OUCH !!!!

I've been crafting all morning....and using hot glue to attach some Spanish moss to a project and some glue came through the moss and got my pinky finger.  Burned so bad I tried to get the glue off and ended up pulling off a couple layers of skin along with it.  :(  I could have left the glue on and continue to burn my finger.....but that didn't seem like such a good idea either.
I ran cold water over my finger and applied some neopsporin and a bandaid...but there has to be an easier way to avoid getting burnt............maybe NOT using hot glue?    damn my finger hurts

  2. I think we've all done that but it sure smarts and you really do need to treat it like a burn and keep the ointment on it! Take care! Hope you can still craft though!

  4. It's down to a dull throb now but it sure did smart - as you all well know, lol.
Oh yeah, I'm not letting that incident keep me from my crafting! I'm just going to use something else besides my fingers to hold the Spanish moss in place from now on.

  7. Wow, I know that hurts! I try to use
tweezers to hold things in place while letting the glue set....I put aloe vera on my burns and bee stings to take the pain out...Hope this helps!

  8. Oh Ouch!!!! is right. I guess the first thing we think to do is pull it off. Ohhhhh that's going to hurt!
Last week I was using the blow torch on some wood and got two of my fingers close and burned them. Yesterday the dry skin started peeling and now it hurts like at the beginning.

    Heal soon!

  9. Those burns are terrible...When I was the floral designer at Michaels I got so many burns that I started using a gun with a low temp/ high temp button and used the low temp the most. It doesn't half as bad!
