Started Painting Today

I started painting my 'new' sewing/craft room today.  I work in 'areas' which drives my hubby crazy.  I'll start on one end of the room and cut, paint, do the ceiling in the same area ( same color) and move on.  Then I'll go back and do the second coat so that when that dries I can start moving things back against the walls and move on to another area of the room.  Our rooms are so danged small, it's too hard not to do it that way.  Hubby would cut the entire room first - then apply the first coat.  When that was dry he'd do the second coat.  Then he'd do the ceiling last.
The way I look at it.........if you're doing the painting.....do it your way.  If I'm doing it........leave me alone , I'm doing ok.
This is the color of the room before I started painting.  The pink is actually much darker and brighter than the photo shows.

I'm painting the room 'coffee'.   Hubby HATES it - says it's too dark.

I say...."it's my room and I'll paint it whatever color I want to".  So there.
He won't be spending any time at all in there  ...unless he plans to  sew up a doll or  make some ornies.
I called it a night as my old bones are aching and I'll resume in the morning if I can move my body.
Anyone want to come trim the windows and door frames for me??  I hate that part.

Another Version Of Moonchild's Santa Angel Pattern

I just love this pattern by Moonchilds Primitives.  It's called Santa Angel and while the original pattern does not call for 'hair', I gave mine some white wool roving hair.  This was my first attempt ( shown in an earlier post) and I wasn't too happy with the collar which was supposed to be flat.

I made another one today and 'mastered' the collar - loving it! And decided to forego the Santa hat and give this angel some luxurious wavy hair from wool roving which I needle felted.  While I sanded the red 'dress' I decided I didn't want the collar stained on this one and I love it.

I sent the Santa Angel to Massachusetts today and the Believe Angel will be listed on eBay tomorrow and also in my KKL Primitives shop ...to see if she sells.  If not, I'm keeping her for myself.  ;)

Believe Santa Angel

This was fun to make.  It was offered as a free pattern from Moonchilds Primitives.  The original pattern didn't call for hair but I had just purchased some wool roving and wanted to try it out.  I've never used it before and attached it with a felting needle.
I had some difficulty with the collar , the pattern shows it as being sewn flat but since the area where it is to be attached is curved, I did it this way so it's more of a stand up collar.  I'll make myself one and then play around with it til I get it right.  This one is going on consignment.
The round tag reads 'Believe'.

I really thought by now that my 'sewing/craft' room would be done, but daughter's single bed and dresser are still in the room and since hubby is off work today I'm going to have him help me take the bed apart and then I'll help him load it in our truck so he can take it over to her house later this evening.  That room needs a really good cleaning before I can start painting.  With any luck I can start painting this weekend.  I'll take before and after photos.

This is my newest grandaughter Isabella, she just turned 5 weeks old yesterday.
