Morning Glory Fiberfill - Attention Myla

I always purchased a 5# box of Morning Glory at Walmart and the past 2 weeks have been reading in a craft forum that Walmart has discontinued selling it.  WHAT!!!!  My sister-in-law goes to Walmart almost every weekend so when she went this past Sunday I told her to pick me up 2 boxes.  They were already sold out and she was told that they are no longer carrying it.
Someone sent me a link for Morning Glory on Face Book and I joined so that I can keep up on what's going on.  Currently the only place that is selling these 5# boxes now is Morning Glory's distributor Marshall Dry Goods Co, Inc. for $12.99 a box.  I believe it was around $10 at Walmart the last time I bought one.
The only 'drawback' from what I understand, at least here on the East Coast is that the shipping is almost the same as the price of the fill.
The good news is that we've been told if we want Michaels and JoAnn Fabrics to start stocking this item, WE have to get on the ball and call them, let them know there is a HUGE demand for this product.
Here is the number for JoAnn Fabrics 1-888-739-4120
If you don't want to call, you can fill out the form on the JoAnn contact page.

  2. You are right about Walmart's ,Morning Glory fiberfill.. I was there this week and they had a different kind and I don't like it.. it's real silky and doesn't stuff good at all.
I use stuffing forks and it goes right through the fiberfil.. I used to buy Airtex ( really the best )even tho it is a bit more expensive but it makes a smooth stuffing.. but don't know where to get it now.. ordered a box once and the shipping almost made me lose my breath.....
Have to find something else... but where ??

  4. I was just at Marshalls website and plugged my zip code in and the shipping on a box of Morning Glory was $12. The price of the fiberfill was $12.99. I too had purchased a different fill and was very unhappy with it. It was too puffy and I couldn't get it to pack in for my prim crafts. Other have been mentioning the "C" grade fill from Monterey Mills. it is $1.29/lb. but you have to phone your order in. I'll be check ing to see what shipping is on that and weighing my options. I do have a spare box of fill so I am good for now.

  5. I have called 3 different Walmarts 50 minutes or more from me. They are all out of Morning Glory. I have been reading posts from other doll makers. Some of them are now buying Walmarts 2 pack pillows. They cost around $10.00 for 2. They said that is working for stuffing their dolls. This might help some of you out there that do not have another source for stuffing. I personally am about to Boycott Walmart :(

  6. Well that doesn't surprise me. Walmart has quit carrying almost everything. I read recently that their sales took a fall for the first time last year. And they don't understand why. Well if they had anything to buy, their sells might increase. I am just fed up with Walmart.

  10. OK, I'm joining the group of complainers! I really do like Wal-Mart and can understand if it's a business decision. I really blame Morning Glory for not going with multiple distributors. $12 for shipping is really steep. I think we should be contacting the manuafacturer of Morning Glory....if we could find out who that is. Y'all are right! You can't STUFF this crummy silky stuff. I'm sick about this. If it's any help, I use a screwdriver to "push" this junk into the arms.

  11. I also became a fan on Morning Glory's Facebook page (thanks for the info that they are on Facebook). For those of you who love their products as much as I do, there may be light at the end of the tunnel on this! They posted that they have a meeting with WalMart at the end of the month in hopes of getting them to put it back in their stores! However, they have asked for our help. Send an e-mail to: jane.e.smith@carpenter.com explaining how you use the product and how much you want it back. She plans on bringing the e-mails with her to prove they have tons of fans and that we want it back!!

  13. I am a real fan of the Morning Glory stuffing, and will be looking for it. I too, will be making some phone calls. And along with others, I have quit shopping at WalMart. They are not carrying much of anything, any more. Twice now, I have gone into WalMart, filled a cart, got to an area for an item, couldn't find it, left cart parked, and left the store!

  14. Hi -
I have a website for a craft product that I used Morning Glory stuffing for, and I always liked it .... partly because I had no viable option! But I went in to major production, and swapped out a new polyfill that has been fabulous. I overbought and would like to sell some of it. Can you help me with that? I'm in lower NYS and making a trip to up near Syracuse in the next month. I could offer free delivery. One reason I overbought is because the new product just had much more reach than Morning Glory.
    Think we can work together?

  15. I also like morning glory. I ordered some from Amazon.com and shipping wasn't too bad. But I have a problem - the fiberfil is gray looking and when you stuff crocheted items you can see it somewhat. It just looks dirty.
