OK Girls....Need Some Suggestions

After the Holidays, hubby wants to start painting.  I need some suggestions for colors that would go nicely with this carpet.  Currently the walls are antique white.  The color of the carpet is called soft copper....it's a beigy light brown color.

  1. depends on what youre going for... I think a very sheer yellow would go nicely... of a brushed granite color...

  2. I'm thinking--you bring home your favorite colors by swatches and tape them up next to the floor board. Choose colors that you can use your accessories to play off of. I would stay away from whites, beiges and yellows. Greens are copper patina which would be natural--like a very pale olive or even a medium olive. Rusty browns if you are bold......like the color of your background here. I like bold. Just test out a bunch of colors and don't decide too quickly. :)

  3. Hi Denise! I have almost an identical carpet in our family room. Since we have darker furniture and wood trim in the room also, I used a lovely creamy color in a satin finish. Then I sponged on the same color in a semi-gloss. It gives the walls "texture and interest" while not being busy. I brought in accessories in deep browns, greens, reds and navy to complete. I'm not usually a white/cream wall person, but this color works well with the carpeting and allows me to change up furnishings, etc. without repainting.

  4. Hi Denise:) I would take your photo here, open a paint samples page in another window and compare them side by side. http://rpdecorativeconcrete.com/images/paint222.jpg

  5. Maybe keep walls that color & just roll glaze on & then sponge roll it off glaze to your liking. It makes the walls look old if you like that. I found the glaze & roller kit at Lowes. I used the chocolate & copper glaze in my rooms. I like the copper glaze the best. I wish I would have used it in all my rooms. Good luck! Blessings!

  6. Jonquil Yellow by Glidden (as an example so you can google it and look at the color) accented by shades of cremes, dark chocolate browns and very light pastel baby pinks, dark maroon like the flowers on your background. I think it would look amazing in that room. It would have a very bold, warm and modern look to it.
